My work is Inspired by my Japanese heritage. My recent projects include repurposing textiles from the 1800’s to the 1940’s such as cotton and silk kimonos, the obi of kimonos, indigo-dyed cotton quilt covers, and hand-woven kaya (mosquito netting made from hemp). I also love creating earrings from washi.
My work often incorporates traditional Japanese folk crafts such as Sashiko and Ikkanbari, both started during the Edo period (1615-1868).
